UrbanFreak Forum Rules
MEMBERSHIP
Rule #1.-
You must be 12 years of age or older to gain membership to and participate in UrbanFreak Forums.
Rule #2.-
You may NOT have more than one account on UrbanFreak Forums. If multiple accounts are discovered, the original (oldest) account will be permanently banned and you will be left only with the new account to participate on UrbanFreak Forums. If this rule is abused, you risk losing all accumulated posts, as well as any earned reputation or EFD on your original account.
Rule #3.-
Banned or temporarily banned members may NOT create new accounts in order to continue posting, or to dispute their ban. Such accounts will also be banned and any and all threads/posts removed from the forum. These members also risk being permanently banned from the forum, and having their IP address blocked. If you wish to contact a forum administrator to discuss a ban, please use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of every forum page.
ETIQUETTE
Rule #4.-
Personal attacks, insults, rudeness, racism, threats, name calling or unnecessarily inflammatory posts will NOT be tolerated. Posts of this nature will be edited or deleted by the admins or moderators. It is important to keep in mind that UrbanFreak Forums is a global community and what might be acceptable behavior in one country may not be acceptable in another. Common politeness, courtesy and constructive posting of opinions is essential in preventing posts from being edited and/or deleted, or having threads locked.
Rule #6.-
Spamming (posting the same thread in multiple forums, or posting the same post in multiple threads), flooding (posting many times in succession in a single thread), or trolling (constant harrassment of a member, or repeated off-topic and/or rude posts in a thread) is not allowed on UrbanFreak Forums. Depending on severity, such posts will be edited or deleted, and may result in a ban from the forum.
Rule #7.-
Criticism of UrbanFreak Forums rules, administrators or moderators is NOT allowed within public areas of the forum. Public areas include: forum threads, posts, member profiles, diaries, signature, custom title, reputation comments, and gallery. If you disagree with how the forum is being moderated or administered, please use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of any forum page to contact an administrator. DO NOT open a thread, or make comments in a post, diary, profile or signature questioning or criticizing UrbanFreak Forums administrator or moderator decisions. These types of threads/posts/comments will be edited or deleted. If you are unclear about the purpose or interpretation of one of the forum rules, either contact an administrator via private message, or view the UrbanFreak Forums Rules Discussion thread.
Rule #8.-
Foul language in thread titles or user titles is NOT permitted. Foul language in posts should be kept to a minimum and not be used in a comment directed at another member, administrator, or moderator. Generalizations using foul language are common but when used in a direct communication to another person, they can be interpreted as rude or insulting. Opinions can be stated constructively without the use of excessive foul language that can be interpreted as flaming against other members.
Rule #9.-
Posting personal real world information about a member, administrator or moderator is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Any threads and/or posts with this type of content will be edited or deleted, and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forum. This includes any information about a forum member or avatar that reveals their real name, address, occupation, or other such sensitive information, regardless of the source.
Rule #10.-
You may NOT shout (all capital letters, and/or excessive punctuation) in posts or thread titles. Use CAPS and punctuation only for minimal emphasis.
Rule #11.-
Keep the whining and complaining to a minimum. Constructively expressing your opinions and viewpoints in a mature discussion about architecture and urbanism can be productive and enjoyable. However, constantly complaining without constructive input is not. The mission of UrbanFreak Forums is to provide a fun, interactive and productive resource for members to discuss architecture and urbanism. Excessive complaining only weakens the community and prevents others from enjoying their time on the forums.
Rule #12.-
Personal issues between individuals or societies should NOT be debated in the public forum areas. Such threads will be removed, since they often promote an escalation of rudeness, insults, and flaming. If you feel that another member has attacked you unfairly, send a Private Message to a moderator or admin. If you feel an UF participant has wronged or harrassed you, file a support case on the official UrbanFreak website.
Rule #13.-
Accusations of "scamming" that name specific UrbanFreak avatars or UrbanFreak members are NOT allowed. Such threads or posts will be edited/deleted or locked without notice.
DISCUSSION AND POSTING
Rule #16.-
Stay ON TOPIC within a thread. A thread starter begins a specific topic for a reason. Hijacking a thread with off-topic issues will get the post edited and/or deleted, and may ultimately cause a thread to be locked. We realize that discussions oftentimes can trigger thoughts or opinions that do not relate directly to the initial thread topic. However, please make an effort to keep your posts relevant to the thread topic; detours unfortunately usually take a thread off-topic and invite others to do the same.
Rule #17.-
Any threads or posts about leaving UrbanFreak, such as “I’m Quitting” or "I've Had Enough" or “Taking a Break”, whether for positive or negative reasons, WILL BE DELETED. This includes any individual posts where comments are made in other threads as well. Members who are curious as to the intention of the poster can inquire through PM or within UrbanFreak.
Rule #19.-
Affiliate or referral links posted with the intention of personal gain are NOT allowed. Advertising real life items or services is also NOT allowed, including such posts as “I’ll make you a nice signature” or "Cheap web hosting". If you would like to advertise on UrbanFreak, please use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of every forum page. Similarly, promotion of or posting links to charities or other services soliciting donations or money are prohibited.
Rule #20.-
Please make an effort to post new threads in the appropriate forum. If you are unsure which forum your thread belongs in, please take the time to read the forum descriptions (usually a sticky post at the top of each forum) to familiarize yourself with the areas of discussion of the various forums. If you are still unsure, please ask a moderator or administrator. Threads posted in an inappropriate forum will be moved without notice.
Rule #21.-
Temporary bans leave a member with only the option to browse the forums, but not the ability to post or respond. Permanently or temporarily banned members are NOT allowed to have another member post on their behalf. Do NOT accept a banned member's request to post on his/her behalf.
Rule #22.-
Posting the content from an email, chatlog, private message, private society forum or reputation comment received from another member in a thread, post, diary, profile, signature or other publicly viewable area of UrbanFreak is NOT allowed. Private messages are to remain private and not revealed to the entire community. Similarly, diary content also should NOT be posted in the public forum areas. In either of these instances, posts will be edited and/or deleted.
Rule #23.-
Bumping of threads is only allowed ONCE in any 24 hour period, and only if the thread has been pushed to the second page of a forum (using default viewing settings). Similarly, reciprocal bumping of threads by friends more frequently than ONCE in a 24 hour period is NOT allowed.
Rule #24.-
Any thread, post, signature or publicly viewable content that clearly violates the UrbanFreak EULA will be deleted, and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forum. This rule includes such things as the sale of avatars, the sale of PEDs or items for cash.
Rule #26.-
Any discussion of, or links to web sites promoting: software piracy, warez, illegal downloads, cracks, cd keys, illegal file-sharing, pornography, drugs, or any other illegal and/or similar content will be deleted without notice. Such discussions and links are totally inappropriate on UrbanFreak (and often illegal in the US, Europe and most other countries).
IMAGES, AVATARS AND SIGNATURES
Rule #27.-
We reserve the right to change your images/avatar/signature/posts without notice, but in most cases a PM will be sent to request that you make the change yourself.
Rule #28.-
When uploading an image to the server, either edit the size of the image, or use the thumbnail or link option to post the image in a thread to prevent expanding the forum. Any image that expands the forum will be edited or deleted.
Rule #29.-
Pornography or sexually explicit material is NOT allowed on UrbanFreak Forum. Obscene images, porn, or offensive text related to gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and any other imagery or language that the staff deems as inappropriate will be deleted. This rule also applies to avatar and profile images and signatures. In most cases, a member will be sent a PM to replace/remove the material in question, unless the material is extremely offensive, in which case an admin or moderator will remove it immediately.
Rule #30.-
Signatures: Text used in your signature may not be too long and not use characters larger than “SIZE=5” and only contain 10 lines of text. Please limit graphical signatures to 700x150 pixels. One 700x150 pixel image and ONE line of text is acceptable, but not an image along with a large amount of text.
Please keep your signature as small as possible, since large signatures clutter the forum and cause unnecessary amounts of scrolling.
